The Contract Red-Flag Pass
Read any contract in plain English and rank what could hurt you.
The dangerous clause is rarely the one in bold. It is the payment term buried in an annexe and the auto-renewal in clause 14.3.
That is the gap this drop closes. It is a finance & admin skill built for Claude, and it takes about ten minutes to set up the first time. After that it runs in under a minute.

How it works
The skill file does five things, in this order.
1. Upload the full document. Annexes included. Most traps live in the attachments.
2. Rank by severity. High, medium, low, with money or liability attached to each.
3. Translate the legalese. One plain sentence per flag: what it means when things go wrong.
4. Get suggested redlines. Alternative wording you can actually send back.
5. Check what is missing. No termination clause is a bigger risk than a bad one.

The mistake to avoid
This is a reading aid, not legal advice. Use it to arrive at your lawyer with three specific questions instead of a forty-page PDF and an hourly rate.
Running it
Save this as SKILL.md inside a folder named after the skill, then drop the folder into your Claude Code skills directory or upload it to a Claude Project. Claude reads the frontmatter to decide when the skill applies, so keep the description line intact. For a one-off run, paste the prompt block directly.
Where this fits
On its own, one skill saves an hour a week. The compounding happens when three or four of them run in sequence on the same input, the same transcript that produces a scope of work also produces the follow-up email and the project brief. Review this contract from the perspective of {your party}.
For each concerning clause output:
- Clause reference and a short quote (under 15 words)
- Severity: HIGH / MEDIUM / LOW
- Plain English: what happens to us if this is enforced
- Suggested redline: replacement wording
Then list MISSING PROTECTIONS, standard clauses absent from this contract
(termination for convenience, liability cap, IP ownership, payment terms,
dispute forum, force majeure).
Finish with THE THREE QUESTIONS to ask a lawyer, ranked by financial exposure.
