The Google Business Profile Competitor Gap Analysis
Identify what competitors are doing on their profiles that you are not
Your profile is complete and verified, yet competitors still rank above you in map results. You need to see what specific actions they are taking that give them the edge.
That is the gap this drop closes. It is a marketing skill built for Gemini, and it takes about ten minutes to set up the first time. After that it runs in under a minute.
Who should use it
Marketing managers who already have an optimised Google Business Profile but want to outrank local competitors
How it works
The skill file does five things, in this order.
1. Map your top three local competitors. Ask Gemini to search for your primary keyword plus your city and extract the top-ranking business names and profile URLs from map results
2. Compare post frequency and format. Have Gemini analyse how often competitors post updates, what content types they use, and whether they leverage offers or events more than you do
3. Audit review response patterns. Ask Gemini to note how quickly competitors respond to reviews, what tone they use, and whether they address negative reviews differently than you
4. Check attribute and service coverage. Have Gemini list which business attributes and service categories competitors have selected that are missing from your profile
5. Analyse photo volume and recency. Ask Gemini to estimate how many photos competitors upload monthly and how recent their last additions are compared to yours
What comes back
A prioritised list of profile improvements based on what is actually working for businesses that outrank you in your area
The mistake to avoid
Run this analysis monthly, not once. Competitors change their tactics, and seasonal patterns affect what works. Save each month's output to track which competitor moves correlate with ranking changes.
Running it
Save the prompt as a Gem so it is reusable, or paste it into Gemini with your files attached. If the task touches Sheets, Docs or Gmail, run it from the Workspace side panel so it can read the file you already have open.
Where this fits
On its own, one skill saves an hour a week. The compounding happens when three or four of them run in sequence on the same input, the same transcript that produces a scope of work also produces the follow-up email and the project brief. That is the point at which it stops being a prompt and starts being an internal tool. If you want that wired into the systems your team already uses, that is the work 67 Digital does.
In the file
I operate a {business type} in {city, UAE} and my Google Business Profile is verified and complete. My primary keyword is {keyword}.
Please search Google Maps for "{keyword} {city}" and identify the top 3 businesses that appear in the map pack.
For each competitor, analyse their Google Business Profile and document:
1. Posting frequency: How often do they publish updates in the last 30 days, and what types (offers, events, standard posts).
2. Review engagement: Average response time to reviews, percentage of reviews with responses, and tone used in responses to negative reviews.
3. Business attributes: Which attributes they have enabled that describe their business (e.g. women-led, wheelchair accessible, free Wi-Fi).
4. Service categories: Primary and secondary categories selected, plus any services listed.
5. Photo activity: Approximate number of photos added in the last 60 days and types (interior, exterior, products, team).
After documenting each competitor, create a comparison table showing where my profile likely falls short.
Then provide a ranked action list of the top 5 changes I should make to my profile based on what these higher-ranking competitors are doing that I am not.
My business name is {your business name}.
